Help and notes

Help lines and how the guide works

In BC, gambling help is free: the provincial support line is toll-free and open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The second half of this page sets out how the Junction desk checks its facts and dates them.

Where to get help

  • Gambling Support BC is a provincial government program administered by the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO). Its toll-free line, 1-888-795-6111, is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the website is gamblingsupportbc.ca.
  • Game Break is BCLC's voluntary self-exclusion program, for a term of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or 3 years. Enrolment is in person with a gaming worker at a casino or community gaming centre, or by online meeting with a BCLC employee.
  • Cascades Casino Kamloops has a GameSense Info Centre on site. A GameSense Advisor is available in every casino in British Columbia.
  • People affected by someone else's gambling can call the same line, 1-888-795-6111. Free counselling and referral from Gambling Support BC cover them too, as they cover any BC resident.

Set the limit before the exit

Before the drive into Kamloops, decide two numbers: how much time the evening gets and how much money. Write them down if that helps, and keep to both at the casino. When either one is reached, step away from the machine or the table. Money for fuel and the rest of the road stays out of it. In British Columbia, gambling, including online gambling, is for people 19 or older, and people under 19 may not enter gambling venues.

How the Junction desk works

This guide is written and signed collectively as the Junction desk. No page carries a personal byline, and the site has no named author. Facts were checked on October 13, 2026. The sources were Cascades Casino Kamloops' own pages, BCLC's casino page, the Government of British Columbia and BC Transit open data.

Distances are straight lines between map coordinates from OpenStreetMap, not road distances, and highways come from the same map. Roads are longer than these lines.

The young woman in the pictures is an AI-generated character. She is not a real person, not casino staff and not the author. The pictures are generated illustrations, not photographs of the casino. The guide has no forms, comments or accounts. It keeps nothing about readers except the colour theme chosen in the browser tab.

Quick answers

Is the support line free at night?

Yes, it is toll-free at any hour. The line, 1-888-795-6111, is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Counselling and referral are free for any BC resident.

How long does Game Break last?

A person chooses a term of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or 3 years. The term cannot be changed once chosen. One agreement covers BC gaming facilities and PlayNow.com. A self-excluded person who plays anyway is not entitled to a prize.
